Town Manager Position:The Town of Pembroke, NC is currently accepting applications for the position of Town Manger. Pembroke is located in Robeson County North Carolina and is an upcoming and thriving community known for its scenic beauty, educational amenities, cultural diversity, and home town feel. Approximately 3000 residents call Pembroke home along with 150 business and industries. The Town Manager will be responsible for overseeing a 5.6 million dollar budget along with oversight of 45 employees. Under NC State statute the Town operates under Council-Manager form of government. We are home to the University of North Carolina at Pembroke that serves over 6000 students annually. The Town also serves as the home of the Lumbee Tribe of NC. Pembroke is located in Southeastern NC along several major interstate systems with quick access to both coastal and mountain communities. There are various outdoor amenities such as various athletic and recreational parks, golf courses, and access to lakes, ponds, and rivers. Applicants for the position should have a minimum of a 4 year degree from an accredited institution in Public Administration, Business Administration, Accounting, or related field. Master’s degree is preferred in aforementioned fields of study. Minimum of 5 years of senior/executive management experience with specific oversight in administrative, financial, and personnel functions. Applicants must be able to pass criminal and fiscal background check. Experience in zoning administration and grantsmanship are preferred.
