Scothurst Golf Course wrapped up its annual club championship tournament on Sunday.

Neil McDonald, of Gray’s Creek, took home the title, scoring a 4-over-par 148 from the blue tees over the two days. He carded a 76 on Saturday before posting a even-par 72 on the final round.

Bob McQueen, of Hope Mills, won the senior club championship with a 2-under-par 142. He started the tournament with a 4-under-par 68 and scored a 74 on the second day.

St. Pauls resident Declan Freswick scored a 4-under-par 68 on a round on Sept. 25. Freswick birdied Nos. 3, 5, 9, 10, 12, and 17. He was playing with Mike Monroe, Gene Gooden and Richard Inman.

Pinecrest CC

Pinecrest hosted the sixth-annual Givens Performing Arts Center Tournament on Tuesday. Greg Bryant, Tracey King and Michael Bassett won the tournament at the event, which raised more than $6,000 for the center’s capital fund.

The trio donated their prize to the First Tee program at Pinecrest.

Proceeds from the tournament will be used on improvements to the center, which is located on The University of North Carolina at Pembroke campus and hosts more than 100,000 people each year.

Fairmont GC

Monday’s Old Hackers winners were Wil Jones, Frank McCormick, Percy Hill and Fred Hill.

Wednesday Choose Up winners were C.J. Hinson, Kirk Hamilton, Jerome Honeycutt and Aaron Maynor.

Fairmont will be holding the sixth annual Fairmont Chamber of Commerce Farmers Festival Golf Tournament on Oct. 18.

The four-person team tournament is scheduled for a 1 p.m. shotgun start. There’s a $50 fee per player or $200 per team, which include cart and greens fees, a mulligan, a red tee, range balls, prizes, and lunch and dinner.

The entry deadline is Oct. 16; the field will be limited to the first 25 teams. Contact the club for information.

The Jason Hunt tournament will be played on Nov. 2. The four-person captain’s choice tees off with a 9 a.m. shotgun start. For information, call Kenny Hunt at 910-536-3266.

Cliffwood GC

Tim Rice, Chris Adams, Mel Britt and Charlie Bruce won the Texas Scramble on Sept. 27.

Monday’s Ladies League winners were Margaret Standifer, Toni Robinette and Carolyn McNeil.

Tom Sipka and Bill Fountain won the championship flight of Monday’s Senior Shootout. Hoyt Pierce and J.D. Revels won the first flight and Gene Brumbles and Sonny Parrish won the second flight.

Wednesday’s Texas Scramble winners were Jimmy Stone, John Potter, Tommy Sipka and John Lahey.
