LUMBERTON — The Boys and Girls Club of Lumberton Robeson County will hold its 10th annual Duck Race on Saturday at Stephens Park, an event that raises money to support the club and sponsor members.

It starts with a performance by the Carolina Breakers at 11 a.m. Free refreshments, including hot dogs and donuts, will be available.

A ticket to rent a duck for the race is $25, and the person who rents the first duck across the finish line will receive $2,000.

LUMBERTON — The North Carolina Professional Rodeo Association will hold a rodeo on July 20 and July 21 at the N.C. Southeastern Agricultural Center/Farmers Market at 1027 U.S. 74 East. Gates open at 6 p.m. and the show starts at 8 p.m.

Events include bare back, saddle bromc, bull riding and steer wrestling, among others.

LUMBERTON — The N.C. Southeastern Agricultural Center/Farmers Market will hold Watermelon Day on Saturday from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at 1027 U.S. 74 East.

LUMBERTON — The Carolina Civic Center Historical Theater will hold a screening of the “The Last Ride,” the Hank Williams biopic, on July 19 and July 20 starting at 7 p.m. each day.

Tickets, which are $10 each, can be purchased at the center at 315 N. Chestnut St., or by calling 910-738-4339 from 1 to 5 p.m. Mondays through Fridays.

LUMBERTON — The Arts Council of Fayetteville and Cumberland County is now accepting applications for the North Carolina Arts Council Regional Artist Project grants.

A free grant workshop will be held at 5:30 p.m. Aug. 9 at the Carolina Civic Center Historic Theater at 315 N. Chestnut St. in downtown Lumberton at the Fourth Street entrance. The workshop is recommended for first-time applicants.
