LUMBERTON — A teenager and a man already in jail on murder charges are among three people who were charged this week with robbing and attempting to kill a Lumberton man earlier this year.

Marcus Taylor Locklear, 26, Garionte Eunique Johnson, 17, and Ronnie Alvin Scott, 21, have each been charged with attempted murder for shooting and robbing 27-year-old Jordan Carrington Lewis on Jan. 28. Lewis and a woman he was with at the time had not taken out warrants against the men until Sept. 4.

Additionally, the men are each charged with two counts of robbery with a firearm, two counts of assault with intent to kill, three counts of discharging a firearm into occupied property and felony conspiracy.

The January incident occurred at the home of Stedford Jones on South Chicken Road in Rowland.

According to an incident report, Lewis and Hillary Hunt went to the home to speak to Jones about raking some leaves. When they pulled up, the report said, three armed men came to the driver’s side of the car and demanded money.

The men pulled Lewis from the vehicle and began beating him with their guns, the report said. Lewis then ran towards Jones’ house while the men fired shots as him, striking him in the right hand, left knee and right foot and striking the house.

Jones told a deputy that the men had come over about 45 minutes earlier to bring him some wine and that he had met them once before, about three months earlier. When he heard the gunshots, he let Lewis inside the home and his girlfriend called 911, the incident report said.

The deputy found a bleeding Lewis lying on Jones’ couch. Lewis was taken to Southeastern Regional Medical Center.

Lewis had been robbed of $450 in cash and a 9 mm firearm valued at $400. The window of his van was shot out, totalling about $1,000 in damage. Jones was not robbed. No information was provided on Hunt’s injuries.

Locklear and Johnson have been held in the Robeson County Detention Center without bond since July for the murder of Robert ONeil Williamson, a Fairmont store owner and father of two. They and 37-year-old David Terrell Mosley were each charged with first-degree murder.

Scott, of Preserve Road, Fairmont, has been jailed under a $550,000 bond. Locklear, of Martin Luther King Drive, Fairmont, and Johnson, of Garrett Drive, Lumberton, are under $450,000 bonds for Monday’s charges.
