The Foundation of Robeson County Community College will be holding its 30th annual Clifford Bullard Memorial Golf Tournament on Sept. 18 at Cliffwood Golf Course.

The tournament supports the world of the RCC Foundation in its mission to provide financial support for the school’s students, activities and programs, especially as the need for scholarship assistance rises.

The tournament raised more than $22,000 and the foundation expects a record-breaking event. Registration information will be announced at a later time.

Cliffwood hosts a senior shootout every Tuesday at 9 a.m. Entry is $20 per player, which includes greens and cart fees and includes a meal catered with Smithfield Chicken and BBQ.

Scothurst GC

Fayetteville’s Jennifer Evans had the best round of her career on May 18, scoring a 1-over-par 73. Evans, playing with Rick Evans, birdied Nos. 6, 8, 10 and 12.

Pinecrest CC

The school social workers of Public Schools of Robeson County will be holding their inaugural People Helping People golf tournament on Saturday at Pinecrest Country Club.

The tournament will help raise money to help children and families around the county who are in need.

Fairmont GC

Tim Moore and Ricky Rogers won the championship flight of Tuesday’s senior shootout. Mel Britt and Tommy Sipka took second.

The first flight was won by Mike Gandley and Marlon Lowry, who finished ahead of Mike Tyson and John Rancke. Second flight winners were Paul Stone Jr and Everett Davis, followed by Gene Brumbles and Jerry Jolly. Special event winners were Tommy Belch, Wayne Beasley, Mel Britt, Jerry Jolly and Richard Moore.

The next senior shootout will be held Tuesday with a 9 a.m. shotgun start. Call the club’s pro shop at 910-628-9931 for information and registration.
