LUMBERTON — Lumberton author Patricia Terrell will hold a book signing for her 15th book, “Dylan’s Song,” at the Carolina Civic Center at 7 p.m. on Thursday.

The event is free and open to the public.

Terrell, who writes under the pen name p.m. terrell, is co-founder of the Book’ Em Foundation event that was held recently at Robeson Community College.

“Dylan’s Song,” which is part of her Black Swamp Mysteries series, is set in Lumberton. The series brings together a CIA psychic spy based on the real U.S. government’s psychic spy program; a CIA ground operative; a computer hacker who prefers to work on the dark side of the law; and a political strategist.

“I’ve had so much fun writing a series in Lumberton,” Terrell said. “There is inspiration everywhere I look. I’ve enjoyed featuring real businesses, real place names and streets in the series.”

Although it begins in Lumberton, the book takes its main characters to Ireland. Dylan Maguire returns to his homeland with psychic spy Vicki Boyd and a mission is to locate and extract a missing CIA operative. While in Ireland, Dylan receives word that his grandmother is dying, which plunges him into a mysterious past that he thought he’d left behind. Now he must confront his demons before it derails his mission and places his and Vicki’s lives in danger. And while Vicki discovers the real reason Dylan left Ireland for America, she harbors a secret of her own.

Terrell has started another series in which the main character is a detective working for the Lumberton Police Department.
