LUMBERTON — Eva Pait Britt, 95, died June 1, 2013, at GlenFlora Nursing Home in Lumberton.
The funeral will be 2 p.m. Wednesday at Floyd Memorial Chapel, the Rev. LeRoy Burke officiating. Burial will follow in Gardens of Faith Cemetery of Lumberton.
She was born in Robeson County on Aug. 16, 1917, to the late Jasper and Lottie Prevatte. She attended Smith’s School, where she excelled in basketball, leading Robeson County in scoring for two years. She was a member of Zion Hill Baptist Church and later, East Lumberton Baptist Church.
Eva was preceded in death by her parents; her husbands, Braddie Pait and Labon Britt; a sister, Myrtle Davis; and two brothers, Harvey Prevatte and Jasper “June” Prevatte.
Eva is survived by two daughters, Bobbie Jean Carder of Charlotte, and Marguerite Morton and husband Norman of Lumberton; a son, Ronnie Pait of Lumberton; a brother, Lloyd L. Prevatte of Lumberton; her grandchildren, Diane Carder, of Doran, Va., Randy and Jeni Carder of Charlotte, Lynn and Mamoru Kubota, of Goshen, Ky., Allyn Morton, of Myrtle Beach, S.C., Jon and Katie Morton of Durham, Renae Butler of Pensacola, Fla, and Pam Rowland of Lumberton; 16 great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren.
The family will receive friends from 1 to 2 p.m. Wednesday before the service at Floyd Mortuary & Crematory Inc., and also at Gardens of Faith Cemetery.
