PEMBROKE —The Pembroke Area Chamber of Commerce is seeking vendors and exhibitors for its third annual street festival, Cruisin’ Pembroke 2013.
The festival is planned for Nov. 9 on Main Street in Pembroke from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.
The event is also sponsored by the town of Pembroke, Lumbee Regional Development Association, The Lumbee Tribe and The University of North Carolina at Pembroke. For information, call 910-775-9110.
LUMBER BRIDGE — Metcon of Pembroke has been awarded the Engineering News & Record Southeast’s “2013 Best Project” for its Sandy Grove Middle School project.
The project allows the school to return more energy to the grid than it consumes and could save the Hoke County schools nearly $35 million over the next 40 years, according to Metcon.
The project will be recognized at the annual Best Projects Awards luncheon on Nov. 8 in Orlando, Fla.
FAIRMONT — The town of Fairmont will hold a job fair from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Wednesday in the Heritage Center.
More than 30 businesses are expected to take part.
