LUMBERTON — Lumberton Junior High School recently selected its Employees and Students of the Month.


Deidre McCallum, a seventh-grade math teacher, has been in the profession for nine years. McCallum earned her bachelor’s degree in Chemical Engineering at North Carolina State University.


Lyndon Alford is a teacher assistant in the BED class and drives a school bus. He has been in the profession for 24 years. .


Brianna McLaurin is a seventh-grade student and is 12 years old. She is the daughter of Anthony McLaurin and Dianna Walker. Her plans are to attend college and become a pediatrician. She is a member of the Lumberton Junior High School Beta Club and the volleyball team.


Aremetria Williams is an eighth-grade student. She is the daughter of Quantez Williams and Tiffany Stephens. Her plans are to attend the University of Pennsylvania and study to become a pediatrician. She is a member of the basketball team and the band. She earned the superintendent’s award and the principal’s award when she was in seventh grade.
