Staff Report

LUMBERTON — The Kiwanis of Robeson-Lumberton donated $1,000 to Rex-Rennert Elementary School to purchase a washer and dryer for students in need of clean clothes.

School Social Worker Kimberly Chavis said this will help students to feel good about themselves in the educational environment. When a student wears dirty or soiled clothes, the school social worker, counselor or teacher assistant may assist in washing clothes for the student.

The school also has a clothing closet so students can have a ready change of clothes.
