Christmas is coming and the towns of Red Springs and Maxton are celebrating with a day full of holiday events on Saturday.
Town leaders are teaming up with the Chamber of Commerce and the Red Springs Arts Council to host Christmas in Red Springs.
From 1 to 5:30 p.m., arts and crafts vendors will set up a fair at the Red Springs Farmers Market. Santa will make an appearance and be available for photos.
The town’s annual Christmas parade will start at 3 p.m.

The town of Maxton’s Christmas parade also is scheduled for 10 a.m. Saturday. Food and craft vendors, floats, music, custom cars, and school bands are expected to be part of the holiday celebration. Cash prices will be given to the best parade float.
A senior citizen breakfast will be held at the Maxton Resource Center at 8:30 a.m.
This year’s theme is “Joy to the World.”
