PEMBROKE — The Museum of the Southeast American Indian will hold a corn-necklace workshop in September.
The workshop, which will be held from 2 to 4 p.m. on Sept. 9 inside of Old Main at The University of North Carolina at Pembroke, will be taught by Gloria and Wendell Lowery. Corn necklaces served as a symbol of spirituality and were used to give thanks to the creator after a bountiful harvest.
The cost of the workshop is $25 and covers registration and materials. The money is due the day of the workshop. Attendees must be 14 years old or older.
To register, contact Alisha Locklear Monroe at firstname.lastname@example.org or call 910-521-6282.
