It’s that time of year again — tax season. AARP will be offering their services filing taxes in the Osterneck Auditorium on Wednesday from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. and on Thursday from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Please call 910-827-6099 to schedule an appointment. Robeson County Public Library Robeson County Public Library does not have tax forms available, but patrons may print tax forms at 20 cents per page by logging on to a library computer with their library card or using a valid ID.

Southeastern Community Health Services will be stopping by with the W.O.W. bus for another free health screening event to Get Fit in February on Tuesday from noon until 3:30 p.m. This screening will include baseline measurements, which includes blood pressure testing and body mass index readings. Healthy habits activity booklets will be available at the screening.

The library has partnered with the Robeson County Arts Council and The University of North Carolina at Pembroke in hosting “River Voices: Reading and Discussing Joseph Mitchell.” Don’t miss the final discussions for this series. Join us Tuesday at 6 p.m. at The Stage, located at 205 W. Thompson St. in Fairmont, and on Thursday at 6 p.m. at the Gilbert Patterson Memorial Library, located at 210 N. Florence St. in Maxton. The discussion in Fairmont will focus on the story “Joe Gould’s Secret,” while the discussion in Maxton will cover “Mazie,” “Lady Olga,” and “A Spism and a Spasm.” For reservations and more details, please call the library at 910-738-4859. Mitchell’s book “Up in the Old Hotel” is available for check out at all Robeson County Public Library locations.

Join the library’s Bookish Book club every third Thursday of the month at 7 p.m. and mingle with fellow book enthusiasts to discuss the selected genre of the month. Our next book club will be on March 16 in the McLean Room at the library. Read a Page-to-Screen adaption (a book that’s been made into a movie) and bring it along to discuss at the book club. Mark your calendars: If you’re not getting enough interviews or job offers, then it’s time to analyze your job search strategies. Join Robeson County Public Library and RCC for a half-day career workshop on March 20 at 1:30 p.m. Learn a few basics on professionalism, effective job search techniques and review tips for creating an effective and professional resume.
