Jailbirds talk to friends and family members Wednesday from inside the cage set up in Biggs Park Mall in Lumberton as part of the Jail-A-Thon to raise money for the Robeson County Relay for Life, which is a fundraiser for the American Cancer Society. Jailbirds were arrested, bond was set and they were held in the cage until they raised the bond amount. As of Thursday morning the Jail-A-Thon had raised $6,753, “with more to come,” said Nicole Brooks, one of the captains of the Relay for Life team Robeson County Government Diamond Divas and Dukes. The team organized and ran the Jail-A-Thon.
