LUMBERTON — Southeastern Wound Healing Center, an affiliate of Southeastern Health that is managed by Healogics, recently announced the appointment of Dr. Karl J. Moo Young as medical director.

Moo Young was previously associated with Southeastern Medical Clinic St. Pauls and, most recently, Southeastern Medical Clinic Gray’s Creek. A native of Kingston, Jamaica, Moo Young earned his medical degree from Ohio University’s College of Osteopathic Medicine in Athens, Ohio, in 1989 and completed an internal medicine residency at Saint Thomas Medical Center in Akron, Ohio, in 1993. He is certified by the Osteopathic National Board and the American Board of Internal Medicine.

Moo Young has served as a panel physician with Southeastern Wound Healing Center since 2009. He, along with Drs. Andrea Simmons, Joe Roberts, James McLeod, Matt Thompson and Obiefuna Okoye, use advanced therapies to treat patients suffering from chronic wounds.

The center offers comprehensive wound care and advanced treatments including hyperbaric oxygen therapy, negative pressure wound therapy, bio-engineered skin substitutes, biological and biosynthetic dressings and growth factor therapies.
