Alzheimer’s walk set for Oct. 15 in Lumberton

LUMBERTON — The 2016 Robeson County Alzheimer’s Walk will be held at Wesley Pines Retirement Community on Oct. 15.

The annual walk raises money for the Alzheimer’s Association to fund educational services for people with Alzheimer’s disease, their families and caregivers, local support groups and research.

The walk begins at 10 a.m., with registration starting at 9 a.m. and a keynote speaker at 9:30 a.m. Participants should meet at the Ruby D. McMillan Fellowship Center.

There is no fee to walk, but participants must raise $50 to get a T-shirt. Participants can register at the walk, online at alz.org or obtain a registration form from Kim Branch or Amy Hammond.
