LUMBERTON — Summer Fest, an event to raise money to help students with the cost of school, is Saturday at Robeson Community College.
The event, sponsored by the Robeson Community College Alumni Association, begins at 10 a.m. It is free and open to the public.
The goal of the event is to raise money for scholarships established by the Alumni Association has set up. The scholarships are for current RCC students and for students who have decided to continue their education at a university.
Summer Fest will begin with the presentation of the colors and national anthem, followed by free hot dogs beginning at 11 a.m. for as long as they last. There will be free school supplies for children, while the supplies last; inflatables, motorcycles, a DJ, and vendors.
The event will include a 5K Tour de Campus run/walk that will start at 8 a.m. Registration starts at 7 a.m.
