LUMBERTON — The Board of Education for the Public Schools of Robeson County will hold a public hearing on Tuesday at Southside-Ashpole Elementary School on the possible transfer of the school to the Innovative School District.
The meeting will begin at 6 p.m. at the school, which is located at 607 S. Martin Luther King Jr. St. in Rowland.
According to information from the school system, “the purpose of the hearing is to afford the public an opportunity to express their views on the potential transfer of Southside Ashpole Elementary School to the North Carolina Innovative School District or the closure of Southside Ashpole Elementary School.”
Also on the agenda is a presentation from the Robotics team at Robeson Community College, a presentation on the system’s district improvement plan, and a closed session to discuss student transfers, personnel and legal issues.
