Lumberton man shot in leg

LUMBERTON — A local man who suffered a gunshot wound was recovering Tuesday at an undisclosed hospital.

Timmy Lynn Jacobs, 45, of Lumberton, was shot in the leg about 12:50 p.m. Monday while on Marigold Lane in Lumberton, according to information from the Robeson County Sheriff’s Office. He was airlifted to a hospital for treatment. His condition is not being released at this time.

Witnesses have been interviewed to determine what happened before Jacobs was shot. Detectives had not been able to interview Jacobs as of Tuesday afternoon.

This investigation continues.

According to Jacobs’ Facebook page, Jacobs works as an equipment operator at Georgina Renewable Power Company.

Jacobs’ social media page is riddled with well-wishes and prayers to his speedy recovery.
