LUMBERTON — A summit on Thursday aims to connect the faith-based community and health care providers.

The health and wellness summit, themed “Keeping Healthy, Keeping Holy,” will be at 7 p.m. in the first floor training room at the Department of Social Services.

The summit, held for the first time last year, aims to combat chronic illness in Robeson County.

“Our health, the health of our families, our churches, and our communities are all bound together,” the Rev. Mac Legerton, one of the summit’s coordinators, said. Churches are asked to send one or two representatives.

The summit will include demonstrations of healthy food and a presentation on the Compassion for U Congregational Wellness Network by Rev. Dean Carter, chaplain and coordinator of Pastoral Care at Southeastern Health.

For information, contact Legerton at 910-736-5573 or [email protected].
