S.C.’s man body recovered from White Lake

Staff Report

WHITE LAKE — The body of a 35-year-old South Carolina man who was presumed to have drowned at White Lake has been found.

Kendrick Lavor Dials, a Florence resident, was visiting White Lake with his family on Saturday when he was reportedly riding an inner tube with two other men when one of the three riders fell off. Dials reportedly went into the water to help the rider who had fallen off, but did not come back up.

Bladen County emergency crews, with assistance of crews from Cumberland County, Robeson County, Pender County, Lumberton and the N.C. Parks & Recreation, searched the lake on Saturday and Sunday until thunderstorms curtailed the search both days.

On Monday, when the search resumed, the man’s body was found at about 8:45 a.m.
