LUMBERTON — The show will go on — and it will be Thursday.

ABC’s “Good Morning America,” which had been planned to be broadcast on Friday from Lumberton Junior High, will now do so on Thursday of next week. It had to be rescheduled because key “talent” associated with the show could not reach Lumberton because a snowstorm in New York City has canceled flights.

The show, which will spotlight the recovery process of Robeson County following Hurricane Matthew, in particular West Lumberton, South Lumberton, and Lumberton Jr. High, will run from 7 to 9 a.m. with live shots being filmed periodically at the school.

The event is open to the public. Visitors are invited to bring signs for the show. Guest may arrive between 6:15 and 6:45 a.m., but the public is asked to not arrive before 6 a.m. Schools will be on regular schedule across Robeson County that day. All minor children must be accompanied by an adult.

Morgan Zalkin, senior producer of special events for the show, has been reluctant to go into details about the show’s format and which on-camera personalities would be in Lumberton for the broadcast because breaking news coverage requirements could “change our plans.”

On Wednesday, preparations were underway for the broadcast on Friday of ABC’s "Good Morning America," at Lumberton Junior High School but word came later today that the show has been postponed. It is now scheduled for Thursday.
