Members of Prospect Elementary School’s Battle of Books team celebrate a first place win Thursday in the sixth to eighth grade competition. Twelve county middle school teams participated in the three-day competition at Lumberton High this week, with Orrum Middle taking second and Fairmont Middle winning third. Prospect Elementary School won a trophy and will receive some money to purchase books for the coming school year. The competition for fourth and fifth graders is next week at Lumberton High School.
