Body of Warrenton teen recovered from Kerr Lake

HENDERSON (AP) — The body of a Warrenton teen has been recovered from Kerr Lake less than a day after he was reported missing.

Vance County search and rescue crews found the body of 16-year-old Keyon Philippe just before noon Monday.

Officials tell local media outlets Philippe had been reported missing just after 6 p.m. Sunday after vanishing near Satterwhite Point. Authorities say he was at the lake with family and friends, swam out to get a ball and never made it back to shore.

Relatives say the teen was a rising junior and football player at Warren County High School.
