PEMBROKE — The North Carolina Association of Residence Hall’s 2017 Fall Summit took place recently at The University of North Carolina at Pembroke.

Thirty-six delegates from 11 universities and colleges across the state attended the day-long conference. The association provides a communication network between member schools and plays host to an annual conference to provide a forum for students to discuss residential living issues.

The summit was coordinated by members of UNCP’s Housing and Residence Life department and UNCP’s Residence Hall student organization.

“This year, we were challenged with incorporating roundtable discussions and leadership sessions to educate and empower leaders,” said David Brown III, student advisor for UNCP’s Residence Hall Association.

This was the first time UNCP has hosted the NCARH annual conference.

“Hosting a state-level business conference is not an easy task, but it is always rewarding in the end,” Brown said.

The conference was sponsored by the Wing Company of Pembroke, the Office of Student Involvement and Leadership, the Office for Diversity and Inclusion, and UNCP Bookstore.
