LUMBERTON — Lumberton Surgical Associates will become an affiliate of Southeastern Health on April 1, joining the Physician Practices Division. The clinic will be renamed Southeastern Surgical Center 2.
Surgeons Samuel E. Britt II and Barry E. Williamson will continue to provide care at the clinic, which is located at 3001 N. Elm St. in Lumberton.
Britt, a Lumberton native, earned a medical degree from Wake Forest University’s Bowman Gray School of Medicine in Winston-Salem in 1980. He completed residency training in general surgery at Charlotte Memorial Hospital and Medical Center in 1985.
Williamson, a native of Asheville, earned a medical degree in 1993 from Wake Forest University’s Bowman Gray School of Medicine in Winston-Salem. After a four-year tour of duty with the U.S. Navy, he completed residency training in general surgery at Wake Forest University Baptist Medical Center.
Both Britt and Williamson are certified by the American Board of Surgery. Britt has been affiliated with the Southeastern Health medical staff since 1985 and Williamson since 2002.
