LUMBERTON — Sheriff’s deputies are trying to determine what killed a 40-year-old man found dead by his wife at the door of their Lumberton home, according to a statement from the Robeson County Sheriff’s Office.
According to the statement, Oscar Mendoza was found by his wife, Charlotte Mendoza, on the ground in front of their home on Harlie Road in Lumberton at about 1:15 a.m. today. Oscar Mendoza’s body was cold and he was “bleeding from his head, nose and mouth,” the statement said.
No one has been arrested.
Maj. Anthony Thompson, chief of detectives for the Sheriff’s Office, said the cause of death is unknown pending an autopsy.
