LUMBERTON — Opportunities to catch some of Robeson County’s stars in action are dwindling — there are just five tables left at the United Way of Robeson County’s third annual Dancing with the Robeson County Stars finale.
Sixteen couples, who have been practicing their moves since November, will present their routines first March 28 and again at the final show on March 29.
“The dancers are excited about their dance routines, the choreographers are working hard with each couple to teach their routines and we want everyone to get behind these dancers and vote,” said Sandra Oliver, United Way of Robeson County’s executive director.
At the March 29 show, the couple who raises the most money will be awarded the coveted mirror ball trophy. Winners in the categories of best dance and best costume will also be named.
Tickets for the March 28 show are first-come, first-served. They can be purchased for $30 at the United Way Office, located at 2512-A Fayetteville Road, or by phone at 910-739-4249 with a debit or credit card. No tickets will be available at the door. The show begins at 6:30 p.m.
Tables for the March 29 show can be purchased for $1,000 and each seat eight people. Dinner will be served at 6 p.m. The show begins at 7 p.m.
“If you are interested in purchasing a table call the United Way Office immediately … They won’t last long,” Oliver said.
Fans can vote for their favorite duo for $10 online at unitedwayrobeson.org, call the United Way office or vote in person. Proceeds will benefit the Dolly Parton Imagination Library and United Way of Robeson County’s education initiatives.
This years dancers are: Erika McComb and Brian Jacobs; Sallie McLean and Gary Strickland; Dolores Jones and Scott Matthews; Erica Meekins and Evan Davenport; Cammie Hunt and Stephen McIntyre; Connie Canery and Zavery McDougald; Linda Branch and Allan Campbell; Magdalena Flores and Joe Roberts; Linda Metzger and Eric Sanders; Kim Pevia and Raymond Cummings; Sharon Kissick and Ward; Brittany Hunt and Will Williams; Ann Christopher Britt and Dwayne Smith; Christy Thorndyke and Rod Jenkins; Joanna Hunt and Regg McIntyre; and Jessica Johnson and Curtis Jones.
