LUMBER BRIDGE — The Robeson County Sheriff’s Office is investigating a homicide Thursday evening after deputies found a 31-year-old man shot to death in a neighbor’s yard, according to Sheriff Kenneth Sealey.
Deputies received a call at about 6:17 p.m. that someone had been shot at 291 Knapdale Road. They found Johnny Issac Robinson “laying beside the residence,” Sealey said. Robinson lived just 300 feet from where his body was found, near McIver Road.
Sealey declined to say where Robinson had been shot, but said he believes he was killed outside, not in the house.
The Major Crimes and Homicide units canvassed the neighborhood and were continuing to interview witnesses at 10:30 this morning. Sealey said he left the scene at about 10:30 p.m. on Thursday and deputies were still working.
“That’s where we’re at right now,” Sealey said. No arrests have been made.
