LUMBERTON — A man who was shot in the leg is recovering from the injury, according to Lumberton police Capt. Terry Parker.
Carlos Hernandez, of Pate Street, was taken to Southeastern Regional Medical Center and has since been transferred to an undisclose hospital, Parker said.
Lumberton police found the 29-year-old on Asbury Drive, which intersects Pate Street, at about 10:45 p.m. on Friday after someone reported hearing shots fired, according to a police report. Hernandez told police that he was shot when three males attempted to rob him. No further description of the men beyond their race was given.
