LUMBERTON — After a recount this morning of the May 6 Democratic primary votes, Robeson County Commissioner Noah Woods held onto his District 4 seat by a slim two-vote victory over political newcomer Faline Locklear Dial.
The final vote count was 1,060 votes for Woods to Dial’s 1,058 votes.
Dial has until early next week to decide if she wants to appeal the results of the recount conducted by the Robeson County Board of Elections. The appeal would be forwarded to the State Board of Elections for its consideration.
The recount showed each losing a vote. Woods, a six-term county commissioner, had 1,061 votes going into the recount, and Dial had 1,059.
