LAURINBURG — Police are looking for a 13-year-old Laurinburg girl who was last seen leaving her mother’s home early Sunday morning.

Tiarra Yvonne Monley was reported missing at 9:26 a.m. Monday by her mother, Laura Monley, of the 500 block of Tuskegee Drive, who told police she hadn’t seen her daughter in nearly 24 hours, according to police Capt. Terry Chavis.

Monley reported that Tiarra, who was visiting from Fayetteville, walked out of the home at 8:45 a.m. Sunday “without permission” and went in “an unknown direction,” Chavis said.

The case is being treated as a runaway, according to Chavis.

According to the report, Tiarra, who is black, has short black hair and brown eyes, stands at 5 feet tall and weighs about 150 pounds. When her mother last saw her, she was wearing a black tank top and black and grey leggings.

At about 10 a.m. Sunday, a Maxton man told Laura Monley that he had seen a girl matching her daughter’s description sitting in a red 4-door sedan that had broken down near his home, according to Chavis. The man reported that the teenager, who was accompanied by another young girl with several facial piercings, soon got into a gold Chrysler 300 which headed towards Laurinburg.

Anyone with information should call the Laurinburg Police Department at 910-276-3211.
