FAYETTEVILLE — A 50-year-old Lumberton man was among three people killed in a wreck that closed a Fayetteville road for about six hours on Wednesday, the Fayetteville Observer reports.

Lt. Todd Joyce, a Fayetteville police spokesman, told the Fayetteville paper that traffic investigators are still trying to determine what caused the wreck that killed Jimmy Campbell, of the 3100 block of Pope Crossing Road, while driving his 2006 Chevrolet truck on Murchison Road.

John Wesley Morrow, 67, of Fayetteville, and Laytosha McNair, 35, of Raeford, were also killed in the accident. A fourth driver, Jennifer Chagnon, 40, of Clemmons, was not seriously injured, according to the paper.

The accident snarled traffic as one pickup truck lay on its side on the sidewalk, and a sedan was wedged under the back another truck, the front of which had been crushed. Murchison Road between Pamalee Drive and Shaw Mill Road were closed from about 6:30 p.m. to about 1 a.m.
