To the Editor
Publishing an editorial saying that the average raise for teachers is 7 percent is deceiving to the public at large. I received a 1.67 percent salary increase.
This, after having had the highest test scores of any subject, any grade, any school, in my county for the year 2012–2013. (Scores not published for 2013-2014 yet). My scores were also among the highest in North Carolina, this after the first year of the new Common Core curriculum. Not to mention 28 years experience, a master’s degree, and no raise for the last six years.
Many others have also been thusly “rewarded.” Gives credence to the saying “No good deed goes unpunished,” right?
