LUMBERTON — The dog days of summer may be upon us, but it’s beginning to look a lot like Christmas at the Carolina Civic Center.

The center will hold auditions for its third annual production of “A Robeson County Christmas Show” at 10 a.m. on Aug. 9.

The show is directed by Kendrix Singletary, the theater’s resident artist, and is done in the style of a holiday music revue.

There are openings on the cast for three female and three male singers who can dance. The theater is also seeking an unspecified number of children ages 7 and older who can cut a rug and take direction. Those auditioning are asked to bring their own musical accompaniment. Holiday-themed tracks are preferred but not required.

Rehearsals will begin in September and the production is scheduled to run from Dec. 12 to Dec. 14.

Adult performers will receive a stipend from Santa after the final show.

The Carolina Civic Center is located at 315 N. Chestnut St. in downtown Lumberton. For information, call 910-738-4339, or visit carolinaciviccenter.com.
