LUMBERTON — A 35-year-old Lumberton man is recovering after being stabbed by his father during a domestic dispute this weekend, according to Robeson County Sheriff Kenneth Sealey.
Austin Thompson was treated for a minor knife wound to his abdomen and released from Southeastern Regional Medical Center on Sunday night, Sealey said.
Thompson and his father, whose name has not been released, were arguing in their Huggins Road home just before deputies arrived on Saturday at about 4 p.m., Sealey said.
According to Sealey, the scuffle began inside. Thompson then dragged his father out to the yard and hit him in the face with an unknown object, Sealey said.
In an attempt to get away, Thompson’s father stabbed him, Sealey said. Currently, no charges have been filed against either man..
Sealey said family members, who also live at the home, were able to break up the fight before the deputies arrived.
