LUMBERTON — A 77-year-old St. Pauls man injured in an accident on Saturday is improving, according to a hospital spokesperson.
Arthur Lee Glover was airlifted to UNC Hospital in Chapel Hill after a pick-up truck being driven by Rosendo Noe Jeronimo-Perez struck him on Fayetteville Road near Barker Ten Mile Road.
On Monday, Maj. Tommy Barnes, with the Lumberton Police Department, said Glover was in critical but stable condition. A hospital spokesperson on Tuesday listed him as being in fair condition, which means his vital signs are stable and he is conscious.
Jeronimo-Perez was charged with felony injury by vehicle, driving while impaired, careless and reckless driving and resisting an officer.
Two passengers in Jeronimo-Perez’s car who fled after the accident have been charged with resisting an officer and misdemeanor fleeing. Andres Bamaca, 25, and 19-year-old Juan Humberto Juarez Castanon, both of Elizabethtown Road, Lumberton, were each jailed under $2,000 secured bonds.
