LUMBERTON — The Carolina Civic Center Historic Theater will hold an informational workshop for artists interested in applying for a grant from the North Carolina Arts Council. It will be held at 5:30 p.m. on Sept. 4 at the center in downtown Lumberton.


The Regional Artist Project grants provide financial support to a broad range of visual, performing, literary and inter-disciplinary artists. Grants range from $500 to $3,000. The project must take place between Nov. 1 and Oct. 31, 2014.


There will be information on eligibility requirements, examples of projects that can be funded, and how to apply.


Applications must be submitted The Arts Council of Fayetteville/Cumberland County, P.O. Box 318, Fayetteville, N.C. 28302-0318. Go to http://www.theartscouncil.com/ to download an application. The deadline to apply is 5 p.m. on Sept. 12.


Artists must be at least 18 and live in one of the following counties: Bladen, Brunswick, Columbus, Cumberland, Harnett, Hoke, Lee, Montgomery, Moore, New Hanover, Pender, Richmond, Robeson, Sampson or Scotland.
