PEMBROKE – The fifth-seeded UNC Pembroke baseball team will lock horns with fourth-seeded and 20th-ranked Georgia College on Saturday at 1:30 p.m. in the opening round of the 2014 Peach Belt Conference Championships in Aiken, S.C., the league office announced.

Soccer releases 2014 schedule
PEMBROKE – Seven home matchups, including a four-game home stand in Sept. , as well as a pair of road contests against NCAA tournament participants, highlight the 16-game UNCP mens soccer schedule.
The Braves will kick off the 2014 campaign on Sept. 4 when they travel to Mount Olive, before opening the home portion of the schedule on Sept. 10 against Wingate at Varsity Grounds. A long trip to Georgia Southwestern will open conference play on Sept. 13 and a neutral site game against Brevard on the 16th will precede the lengthy stay in Pembroke.
“Being in the Peach Belt Conference, it’s going to be a tough schedule for us every year,” Hindson said. “We’ve added some difficult games with Wingate, Mars Hill and Erskine to try and put ourselves into a position that, if we win enough games, we have a chance to make the NCAAs.”
The Braves will open up a four-match home stand on Sept. 16 against Pfeiffer and will welcome Montevallo four days later, followed by Barton, Clayton State and Francis Marion over the two-week stretch. The Braves will play six of their final eight regular season matches on the road, including consecutive games against NCAA Tournament participants Flagler and Lander in October.
