To the Editor,

As a Tanglewood resident and candidate for the Precinct 8 seat on City Council, I write today to applaud the members of the Lumberton Police Department, Chief Mike McNeill, and Captain Terry Parker for their swift and decisive action arresting and charging five people in conjunction with the investigation into recent break-ins in the Tanglewood community of Lumberton. I also commend the citizens of the Tanglewood and Friends Community Watch, especially Windy Christy, for their diligence in keeping open and direct lines of communication throughout the Tanglewood community as well as with our local law enforcement officials. It takes the work and diligence of all members of our community to keep Lumberton a safe and prosperous place in which to raise our families.

Windy Christy and I created the Tanglewood and Friends Community Watch committee earlier this spring. We welcome all residents of Tanglewood and the city of Lumberton to join up and share best practices and common concerns. To find out the time of our next meeting, and become a member of our private Facebook Tanglewood and Friends Community Watch page, give me a call or text at 919-889-2514. Communication within all neighborhoods of Lumberton is key in keeping us all safe and secure. When we work together, anything is possible.
