Rumba raises $10,000 that will help with Matthew recovery

To the Editor,

On behalf of Robeson Road runners, I would like to thank all of the sponsors and participants in our annual Rumba on the Lumber festivities. This year we were able to raise more than $10,000 for hurricane relief efforts. Last week, we presented checks to both the city of Lumberton and Robeson County for $5,000 each to be used to help people who lost so much to that horrible hurricane.

We couldn’t have done it without you!

The Robeson Road Runners is a group of runners, walkers, cyclists, triathletes and individuals dedicated to the constant improvement of our community. Our message to the community that fitness can be fun and should be enjoyed by the entire family.

We look forward to speaking with you more about next year’s event in the coming months.
