DUBLIN — Two Lumberton residents have been arrested and charged with the larceny of a trailer and golf cart at Pait’s Apartments on N.C. 410 in Dublin on Friday.

Timothy Deral Hunt, 32, was charged with larceny of a motor vehicle, possession of a stolen vehicle, possession of burglary tools, resisting a public officer and two counts of failing to appear in court on previous charges. He is in the Bladen County Jail under a $506,000 secured bond. Tanisha Monique Wassil, 32, was charged with larceny of a motor vehicle, possession of a stolen vehicle, possession of burglary tools, felony speeding to elude arrest and failure to heed blue light and siren. She is in the Bladen County Jail under an $11,750 secured bond.

“An off-duty deputy saw a dark-colored sports utility vehicle … pulling an empty trailer at about 1 a.m.,” said Capt. Rodney Hester of the Bladen County Sheriff’s Office. “When the vehicle left Pait’s Apartments, the trailer was loaded with a yellow and white golf cart.”

Hester said an on-duty deputy met the vehicle on N.C. 41 West as it was traveling toward Robeson County. When the on-duty deputy attempted to stop the black 1998 Ford Expedition near the county line, the vehicle sped up.

“A couple of times during the pursuit, the vehicle slowed down almost to a stop, then would take off again,” Hester said. “The pursuit traveled up Singletary Church Road and onto N.C. 211 toward Lumberton.”

Hester said the vehicle turned into a mobile home park as Robeson County sheriff’s deputies were arriving to assist.

The investigation showed that the trailer had been stolen from White Lake and the golf cart had been stolen from Pait’s Apartments.

The Ford Expedition was seized.

Modern day "Bonnie and Clyde" huh? These two leave alot to be desired. Stealing from hard working citizens, they should rot in prison. Its like my elders have always told us, "You can call me for anything but stealing!"
