LUMBERTON — The Alive After 5 concert series continues Thursday with a performance by the Craig Woolard Band, giving locals an opportunity to enjoy Motown and soul hits, and to shag to beach music.
The event, which is free to the public, will take place on the corner of Third and Chestnut streets from 7 to 9:30 p.m, with the band facing the downtown plaza and the fountain area. There will be a dance floor set up for people to groove to hits by The Temptations, Rod Stewart and Journey.
Burgers and steak sandwiches will be available from Rock’n Dean’s, and ice cream will be sold from Boo Doodle. Tickets to purchase beer will also be available.
Thursday’s event is the second of five, which are held every other Thursday.
Other bands scheduled to perform are the Carolina Breakers on June 14, Holiday Band on June 28 and Jim Quick and Coastline on July 5.
In case of rain, all concerts will be rescheduled. The forecast for Thursday evening is mostly cloudy with temperatures in the 80 degrees and a 50 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms.
