Tim and Diane Arnette of Lumberton announce the engagement of their daughter, Ashley Morgan Arnette, to Brandon Jeremy Bauch, the son of Dennis and Cheryl Bauch of Fayetteville.
Arnette is the granddaughter of Joe and Edith Arnette and Bridgette and the late Linwood Bass, all of Lumberton. She attended Lumberton High School.
Bauch is the grandson of William and Priscilla Holdorf of Raeford, and Donald and Carol Eickert or New Holstein, Wis. He attended Elgin High School and works for Lumberton Honda.
The wedding will be held at 6 p.m. on Sept. 8 at the East Lumberton Church of God.
Marion Bruce Adams of Lumberton and Arthur Glenn Martin of Ellerbe, were married at Oak Grove Baptist Church at 6 p.m. on June 23. The Rev. Henry C. Bruce officiated.
The bride is the daughter of Lewis E. Bruce Sr., and the granddaughter of Oliver C. Bruce. She attended Philaphus School and is retired.
The groom is the son of Boyce A. Martin and the grandson of Charlie Martin. He attended Rockingham High School and is retired.
The bride was attended by her granddaughter.
The best man was Jacob Martin, the grandson of the groom, and the groomsmen were Lewis Hodges, Bradley Adams and Garrett Adams.
The musicians were Karen Tyner and Rev. Mitch Tyner, accompanied by a pianist, Lynn Rice. The wedding director was Teresa Johnson.
The rehearsal dinner was hosted by Matthew, Andy and Steven Adams, and local showers were hosted by Teresa Johnson and Betty McCray at the home of Mrs. Johnson.
The reception was at the Oak Grove Church Fellowship Hall.
Following a trip to Savannah, Ga., the couple resides in Ellerby.
Kelly Elizabeth Smith and Christopher Alan Avant were married on June 16 at 5 p.m. at First Baptist Church in Rockingham.
The bride is the daughter of Richard and Jan Smith of Rockingham, and the granddaughter of Richard Smith, Sr. and the late Zoe Smith, also of Rockingham, and Doris Allen of Burlington. She attended Richmond Senior High School and the Aveda Institute in Chapel Hill. She works as a licensed esthetician with Carolina Eye Associates in Southern Pines.
The groom is the son of Alan and Rose Avant of Lumberton, and the grandson of the late G. T. and Marie Avant of Rockingham, and the late Adelaide Williams Erxleben of Hamlet. He attended Robeson Community College and works as the director of Environmental Services at Kernersville Medical Center.
The maid of honor was Caroline Smith, the sister of bride, and the matron of honor was Leslie Steen. The bridesmaids were Marisa Chapin of Myrtle Beach, S.C., Marie Hodges of Rockingham, Holly Littlefield of Rockingham, and Jill Sharpe of Garner.
The honorary bridesmaids were Renee Byrd of Clayton, Christina Carlson of Edgewater, Md., Jolene Cooper of Freeville, N.Y., Amanda Martin of Chapel Hill and Hana Petrea of Lakeview.
The best man was Alan Avant, the father of the groom, of Lumberton.
The groomsmen were Stephen Avant of Charlotte, Jayson Bussard of Palm Beach Gardens, Fla.,Matthew Russell of Pittsboro and Scott Smith of Greenville.
The flower girls were Rhiannon and Reagan Sharpe of Kure Beach, and the ring bearers were Masters Harrison and Landon Wellons, both of Burlington.
The reader was Thomas Sullivan of Charlotte, and the ushers were John Critcher of Oxford, and Larry Russell of Pittsboro.
Music was provided by organist Don Greene of Rockingham, pianist Judy Harris of Rockingham, and vocalists Cameron Russell and Matthew Russell, both of Pittsboro.
The rehearsal dinner was hosted by the parents of the groom at Hinson Lake, and the reception was hosted by the parents of the bride at The Fair Barn in Pinehurst.
The wedding director was Cheryl Lampley, Pam Denson and Debbie Wrenn, all of Rockingham.
Following a wedding trip to Charleston, S.C., the couple will reside in Kernersville.
