Locklear-Hammonds
The late Tony Locklear and Betty Hunt of Pembroke are pleased to announce the engagement of their daughter, Nakema Locklear of Shannon, to Michael Hammonds of Red Springs, the son of Mitchell and Cora Faye Hammonds of Baltimore, Md.
Locklear is the granddaughter of Fermon and Martha Locklear of Red Springs.
Hammonds is the grandson of George and Myrtle Thompson of Baltimore, Md.
The wedding ceremony will be Aug. 4 at 3 p.m. at the House of Prayer.
WEDDING
Jackson-Day
Kimberly Jackson of Lumberton and Chris Day of Whiteville were married at 6 p.m. on May 5 at Holden Beach on the sand. The Rev. Jimmy Locklear officiated.
The bride is the daughter of Anthony and Libby Tedder of Lumberton, and the granddaughter of the late Lonnie and the late Ruby Huggins, and Joe Tedder, of Oklahoma, and late Dorothy Cook, of Lumberton. She attended Lumberton High School and Bladen Community College and works for Dr. Royal’s office.
The groom is the son of Sherry Sibbett and the late Sammie Day and the grandson of the late Earl Stewart and Julius Stewart. He attended Whiteville High School.
The matron of honor was Maggie McQuage, and the bridesmaids were Spring Jackson and Laiken Day, and the junior bridesmaids were Brooke Rogers, Madison Taylor and Carmen Adkins.
The best man was Wayne Day and the groomsmen were Bryan Powell and Nick Hinson.
The flower girls were Chloe McQuage and Chloe Rogers and the ring bearer was Jamie Locklear.
The musician was Kim Rogers and the wedding directors were Jill West and Allison Hull.
Girls at worked hosted a shower at Dr. Royal’s office, and ladies at church hosted a shower at Freedom Fellowship.
The reception was hosted by the bride’s parents at Majak Moments at Holden Beach.
After a wedding trip to Gatlinburg, Tenn., the couple will reside in Bladenboro.
Locklear-Norris
Adriana Nicole Locklear and Jason Marion Norris, of Lumberton, were married at 4 p.m. on April 14 at Southeastern Agriculture Farmer’s Market. The Rev. Anthony Hardin officiated.
The bride is the daugther of Donna Hammonds and Mr. and Mrs. Carlie Locklear, and the granddaugther of John C. and Essie Locklear, and Lee Hammonds and Edith Chavis. She attended Lumberton High School and Robeson Community College and works for Lumbee Guaranty Bank.
The groom is the son of Sherry Norris and step-father Mark Faulk and Mr. and Mrs. Thomas Cain, and the grandson of the late Jake Norris and Martha Prevatte, and Malcom and Mavis Cain. He attended Lumberton High School and Robeson Community College and works for Fairmont Public Safety Police Department.
The bridesmaids were Chasity Locklear, Rebecca Scott, Candace Nicole Williamson, Bianca Cruz, Barbara Jacobs, Terri Obershea, Meagan Remier, Chelsie Remier, Tasha McMillian, Brianna Hunt, Katara Oxendine, Heather Locklear.
The best men were Thomas Cain and Mark Faulk, and the grooms-men were Karl Locklear, Bradley Bullard, Luis Cruz, Forrest Obershea and Chad Atkinson.
The flower girls were Leanna Locklear and Makayla Jones, the ring bearer was Nicolas Locklear and the miniature groomsman was Jayden Locklear.
The musician was Ricky Lowry, and the wedding director was Gina Britt Willoughby.
The bridal shower was a Pampered Chef’s party hosted by Mickey Williamson. A shower was hosted by Donna Hammonds and Sherry Norris at the Soaring Eagle Building. The rehearsal dinner was hosted by the bride and groom at the Fairmont Community Center.The reception was hosted by the bride and groom at Southeastern Agriculture Farmer’s Market.
Following a honeymoon at a Sandal’s Resort in St. Lucia, the couple will reside in Lumberton.
ANNIVERSARY
Phillips
Russell and Vickie Phillips of Lumberton, celebrated their 40th anniversary on a cruise to the Bahamas and Atlantis with their children and given children.
The celebration was hosted by Eric and Aimee Phillips, and Kimberly and Steven Taylor.
Russell and Vickie were married at Antioch Baptist Church in Lumberton on July 30, 1972. The Rev. D.J. Long officiated.
