LUMBERTON — A new business, Granny Olive Custom Cakes and Coffee House, opened Friday at 2512 B on Fayetteville Road in Lumberton. It will hold a grand opening on Thursday, Friday and Saturday during which discounts will be offered.

The business, owned by Melissa Stone-Caulder and Ashley Todd, specializes in cakes, cupcakes and pastries, and will also offer event planning. It will be open from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. Mondays through Fridays and 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Saturdays.

“We do call-ahead orders with curbside pickups,” Stone-Caulder said. “You can also call the afternoon before and we will have the order ready for you the next morning to take into work. We are adding fresh new healthy options to our menu by March 1 for breakfast and lunch. Additionally we will have gluten-free and sugar-free options. We are adding regular coffee, lattes, espresso, sweet tea and various juices.”

Stone-Caulder said she plans on employing five people.

They are on Roberts avenue in the old Sylvan Learning Center building, same parking lot as Smith's Cleaners.
