Drama

The Saddletree Church of God family will present the drama, “The Ten Virgins,” this evening at 7 and Sunday evening at 6.

Bishop Kenneth Locklear and Saddletree members invite everyone to this life-changing drama.

The church is at 1508 Rennert Road, Lumberton.

“Say Yes To Jesus,” a gospel play, will be presented May 14 at 7:30 p.m. at Lumberton Junior High School. The play is being presented by Say Yes To Jesus Ministries.

Tickets are $10 for adults in advance, and $12 at the door. For children 12 years and younger, advance tickets at $8, and $10 at the door.

Youth

The Mt. Pelier Presbyterian Church Youth Choir will mark its 29th anniversary in a program at 4 p.m. on Sunday. The Peay Brothers will be special guests on the program. The church is at 4389 N.C. 130 West, Rowland.

Fundraisers

Antioch Baptist Church is selling T-shirts. Sizes S-XL are $15 and 2XL T-shirts are $16. If you are interested call the church and ask to speak to a team member or Regina Davis, reginadalelance@yahoo.com.

Bible study

Lewis Hatchell, who has 50 years’ experience studying prophecy, teaches a class on the last Monday of every month at East Lumberton Church of God. The class is from 7 until 8:30 p.m.

Special events

Long Branch Baptist Church will have its Spring Festival today and Saturday. A softball tournament will be today and Saturday.

There will be a number of events, including a yard sale at 8 a.m. Saturday.

Greater Higher Grounds Pentecostal Holiness Church of Deliverance will have a fun day on Sunday at Northeast Park on Linkhaw Road. The event will be from 10 a.m. until 6 p.m.

Team Harvest for Hope is sponsoring Soup Sundays at Harvest Church. The cost is $5 for soup, a peanut butter sandwich and drink, and the meals are served in the church’s fellowship hall. The next Soup Sunday will be May 15.

Anointed Believers Ministries will have a Joy Night service today at 7:30 p.m. Eldress Towanna Monroe of Jackson Grove Church, Rennert, will be the speaker.

Holy Swamp Baptist Church will host a 100 Women in Red and White program at 4 p.m. Sunday. The church is at 216 Anointed Drive, Lumberton.

Mother’s Day

A Pre-Mother’s Day program will be Sunday at the Southside School Alumni Building in Rowland.

The program will feature: The Original Northernaires of Brooklyn, N.Y., New Talented Voices of Evergreen, Tones of Joy of Lumberton, The Boys of Whiteville, Queen of Gospel and the Joyfulaires of Elizabethtown, The Yancy Brothers of Newark, Del., Charles Cook and The New Voices of Maxton, the Piney Grove Male Chorus from Maxton and the Sandy Grove Senior Choir from Maxton.

Admission is $7. Doors open at 2 a.m., and the program will begin at 3. Food and beverage will be available.

Ebenezer Missionary Baptist Church, Marietta, will have a Mother’s Day observance on May 8 at 11 a.m.

Minister Dion C. Terry, associate minister of Ebenezer United Church of Christ in Burlington, will be the speaker.

The United Methodist Women at Mount Olive United Methodist Church, Lumberton, will have a Mother’s Day service at 11 a.m. on May 8.

Evangelist Debra Downing Jefferson will be the speaker.

The Rev. Bertha Graham and the church family invite everyone to this celebration.

Yard sales

The Golden Rule Sunday School Class at Hyde Park Baptist Church will sponsor a yard sale May 6 from 7 a.m. until 5 p.m., and May 7 from 7 a.m. until 2 p.m.

A variety of items will be on sale, and there will be something for everyone.

All proceeds from the yard sale will be used to help sponsor upcoming church mission trips.

Plate sales

A plate sale will be May 6 at the Prospect Longhouse. The sale will be from 10 a.m. until 9 p.m., and barbecue and chicken plates will be available. For information, call (910) 843-8506.

Anointed Believers Ministries, 900 Martin Luther King Jr. Drive, Lumberton, will have a plate sale May 6 from 11 a.m. until 4 p.m. and May 7 from 11 a.m. until 7 p.m.

Barbecue, chicken and fish plates are $6 each. Stew beef and rice plates and combination plates are $7. Chicken, barbecue and fish sandwiches will be on sale for $3 each.

Side orders will include: green beans, potato salad, baked beans, cole slaw and candied yams.

Oak Grove Missionary Baptist Church, 2060 Turkey Branch Road, Fairmont, will sponsor a pastor’s aide stew beef plate sale on May 5. The plate sale will begin from 11 a.m. until 4 p.m. Donations of $6.50 per plate are asked.

Conferences

The Lumber River Baptist Association’s Church Growth Conference will be Monday through Wednesday.

Meetings will begin at 7 each evening at the Baptist Assembly building at 155 Plainview Drive, Lumberton.

A women’s conference will be May 4-6 at Anointed Believers Ministries. The conference will begin at 7:30 each evening.

Veronica Patterson of Miller Chapel Church in St. Pauls will be the speaker on May 4. Minister Vermel Taylor of Rhyne Memorial Church, Red Springs, will be the speaker on May 5. On May 6, Pastor Donald Todd of New Light Apostolic Church, Lumberton, will be the speaker.

Food ministry

The National Day of Prayer event will be May 5 at 12:15 p.m. at the Robeson County Courthouse. Everyone is welcome.
