Plate Sale

Morning Star Community Church’s annual plate sale is today.

Two spots, cole slaw, baked beans, cole slaw, bread and cake will be served at a charge of $5 per plate.

The Trinity Holiness Church Youth will present “This is Christmas” at 6:30 p.m. Sunday.

Prayer Breakfast

The monthly prayer breakfast at Turner Station AME Church will be Dec. 26 at 8 a.m.

Everyone is invited for breakfast and fellowship, followed by church school and the morning worship service.

Meetings

The Daniels/Roberts Area Missionary Society meeting will be at 10 a.m. on Dec. 18. The meeting will be at St. Paul AME Church in Fairmont.

Angelfood

Angelfood orders will be accepted at Covenant Worship Center, 1270 Linkhaw Road in Lumberton, from 3 to 6 p.m. on Sunday.

Food pick-up will be on Dec.18th from noon until 1 p.m. There is a great Christmas meal box for $36 that will feed 8 people. Many other food boxes ranging in price from $31 to $41 are available from the ministry.

The Parkton Presbyterian Women’s annual breakfast with Santa from 7 to 11 a.m. on Saturday.

Tickets are $5 each for the all-you-can-eat event.

There will also be a bake sale and pictures will be made of children with Santa.

Half of the project’s proceeds will go to the Barium Springs Home for Children.

Advent service

Trinity Episcopal Church is hosting Wednesday Advent Noonday prayers and inspirational music.

On Dec. 15, Dr. Ernest Lamb, cellist and chairman of the Department of Performing and Fine Arts at Fayetteville State University, will perform.

Zavery McDougal, soloist and director of music for First Baptist Church, West Second Street, Lumberton, will perform on Dec. 22.

The Antioch Baptist Church family invites everyone to be a part of the real Christmas story as they present the Annual Living Christmas Tree.

Beauty Spot United Methodist Church will present its Christmas cantata, “Behold Emmanuel,” on Sunday at 5 p.m.

Beauty Spot’s Children and Youth Department will present a Christmas program following the cantata.

“The Reason for the Season, the birth of our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ,” begins the Christmas celebrations at Cedar Grove Baptist Church on Sunday at 6 p.m.

There will be a puppet and drama show by the J.A.M. Puppet Team, under the direction of Jose Negroni.

The church’s Christmas cantata, “O, Holy Night,” will be presented at 6 p.m. on Dec. 19. The cantata is under the direction of Bayne Prevatte.

A visit from Santa Claus is also expected, so everyone is invited to come and enjoy the evening with the Cedar Grove family.

Dothan Presbyterian Church, 501 E. Martin Luther King Drive, Maxton, will have a Christmas candlelight service Sunday afternoon at 3.

The Rev. Gertrude Davis, associate minister of Star of Bethlehem Missionary Baptist Church, Laurinburg, will be the guest speaker.

Music will be provided by the Piney Grove Male Choir.

The Marietta Community Christmas Benefit program is Sunday at Turner Station AME Church in Marietta.

The program will start at 6 p.m.

A Christmas Kids musical by the Morning Star Community Church children will be presented Sunday evening at 6. A puppet ministry, presented by Saddletree Church of God, will also be on the program.

New Zion United Methodist Church’s Christmas play, “A Family Christmas,” will be Dec. 18 at 5 p.m.

The play was written by Al McPherson, and is under his direction.

Generation Ministry, Lumberton, will present “Gifts For A King” on Dec. 19 at 4 p.m.

The presentation asks, “What are you doing with your gift?”

Covenant Worship Center in Lumberton will present its Christmas cantata, "Rejoice," on Dec. 19 at 10:30 a.m.

The children's program on Dec. 19 begins at 6:30 p.m. in the church’s Family Life Center. A food fellowship will follow.

All children 12 years old and younger will receive a gift after the program.

A candlelight service, celebrating “Jesus Has Come,” will be at 7 p.m. on Dec. 22 at the church.
