Crusade

The David Pait Evangelistic Association is planning a crusade to be held in the Lumberton High School auditorium March 10-12.

The crusade will begin each evening at 7. There will be special guests and performances nightly by a mass choir made up of members from area churches.

The ministry’s mission is to be an evangelistic outreach to people who do not know Christ Jesus as their personal Savior.

Special services

^

Redeemed Assembly International Church will host the live performance of “Rapture” on Sunday morning at 10:45. The presentation asks, “Jesus is coming back, will you be ready?”

The church is at 4282 N.C. 211 West, Lumberton.

Words of Life Worship Center will host Yahweh’s School of the Prophets each Tuesday evening at 7:30. Apostle Moses Townsend of Fayetteville will lead these meetings.

There is no admission charge.

The worship center is at U.S. 301 South and Decker Road, St. Pauls.

Youth

^

The S.T.O.R.M. Youth group meets at Covenant Worship Center on Linkhaw Road in Lumberton each Wednesday night at 7. If you are 13 to 20 years old, you are invited to join the group.

A Youth Mission Trip fundraiser will be Feb. 27 at Barnesville Baptist Church . A spaghetti dinner will be served at 12:15 p.m.

Everyone is invited. Plates will be available for take-out or eat-in. Donations only are accepted.

Children’s ministry

^

Faith Farm, for children 4 to 12 years old, is held each Sunday morning at 10:30 at Covenant Worship Center on Linkhaw Road.

Revivals

^

Revival services will be Feb. 27-28 and March 1-4 at Fair Point Baptist Church . The Revs. James Mitchell Cummings and Ricky Burnette will be the speakers. The Sunday evening service will start at 7 p.m., and services Monday through Friday will begin at 7:30 p.m.

The church is at 1862 Marion Stage Road, Fairmont. Pastor Charles Cummings and the congregation invite everyone.

Mt. Elim Baptist Church , 645 N. Creek Road, Orrum, will have revival services Sunday at 6 p.m. and Monday through Wednesday at 7 p.m.

The Revs. Mike Cummings and Tim Chavis will be the speakers.

Dr. M. Randall Jones will be the guest evangelist in a revival at Sand Hill Baptist Church . The services will be March 13 at 11 a.m. and 6 p.m., and March 14-16 at 7 p.m.

Pastor appreciation

A pastor appreciation service will be March 6 at House of Mercy Holiness Church , Rowland. The service will begin at 10 a.m., and everyone is welcome.

Special events

Bethany Presbyterian Churc h on Elizabethtown Road in Lumberton, will have a Black History Month celebration at 11 a.m. on Sunday.

An old-fashioned potluck dinner will be served in the church’s dining room after the service. Everyone is invited.

Mount Olive United Methodist Church , 403 E. Elizabethtown Road, Lumberton, will have a Black History program Sunday afternoon at 3.

The celebration will include singing and instrumental music, praise dancing, poetry readings and African-American profiles. Gertrude P. Johnson, dramatic story teller, will be the special guest.

First Orrum Missionary Baptist Church members will be celebrating Black History Month through Feb. 27.

The Rev. Erecia Gaddy of Jonesville Baptist Church will speak on Sunday, and the Rev. G.J. Ross of Hill Chapel Missionary Baptist Church in Faison will speak on Feb. 27.

Providence AME Zion Church , 279 Purvis Road, Rowland, will have a Black History program on Feb 27 at 3 p.m.

The Rev. Emily Bronson of Elizabethtown and Mark Adams of Rowland will be the speakers.

There will be an old-fashioned agape luncheon after the program.

New Beginning Church of Lumberton will have the following Black History Month events:

n Feb. 20 at 11 a.m.; All-African Day with historical readings and speeches. Everyone is encouraged to wear African attire.

n Feb. 27 at 11 a.m.; Old-Timer’s Day.

n Feb. 27 at 4 p.m. A Black History program will feature Pastor Vince Rozier of Sandhills Baptist Church as the guest speaker.

The Hearts Song Anniversary Singing will be at West Saddletree Baptist Church today at 7 p.m. and Saturday at 6 p.m.

The singing will feature The McNeills, Carla and Redemption, Teachers of Grace, The Lumber River Quartet, The Locklears, The Graham Family, The Singing Sheppards and Hearts Song Quartet.

The Annease Drive Praise and Worship Center will have a gospel singing on Saturday evening at 6:30.

The program will feature The McDonald Quartet, The First Apostolic Church, Friendly Pentecostal Holiness Church, Sisters In Christ and Shelia Jacobs Hammonds.

New Jerusalem Holiness Church , Red Springs, will host a benefit singing for Darlene Jacobs, a cancer patient, on Feb. 25.

The program begins at 7 p.m., and will feature: The Locklear Brothers and Wendy, The Singing Revelations, Truly Blessed and the New Jerusalem drama team.

Sandwiches and hot dogs will be on sale.

All proceeds will be used for Locklear’s medical expenses.

Conference

Calvary Cornerstone Holiness Church , St. Pauls, invites everyone to attend the Ambassadors for Christ Men’s Conference Feb. 24-26. The conference begins at 7:30 p.m. on Feb. 24 and 25. Breakfast will be served at 9 a.m. on Feb. 26 and the service will be at 10 a.m.

Pastor Harry J. Ghee and the New Bethel Missionary Baptist Church family are celebrating their 11th anniversary this month. The church is on New Bethel Church Road in the Rex community.

n Saturday, there will be a Community Fellowship Breakfast from 8 until 10:30 a.m. at New Bethel. A $5 donation is requested.

n Pastor Ronald Thomas from Sandy Grove AME Zion Church will be the speaker in a 7 p.m. service on Feb. 25.

n There will be an anniversary banquet (semi-formal) on Feb. 26 at 6 p.m. The banquest will be in the Sandy Grove Family Life Center in Lumber Bridge. Tickets are $20 per person, or $200 per table.

n The Rev. Charles Covington of Oak Ridge Missionary Baptist Church will be the speaker in the 11 a.m. service on Feb. 27.

n A service will be at 3 p.m. on Feb. 27. Pastor Tomi King of Swan’s Creek Missinary Baptist Church will be the speaker.

The Ebenezer Baptist Church family in Marietta will celebrate the 16th anniversary of their pastor, the Rev. John Campbell, on Sunday in the 11 a.m. service.

Dr. Gregory D. Taylor, moderator of the Lumber River Baptist Association and pastor of First Baptist Church, Bladenboro, will be the guest speaker.

The service will also feature singer and songwriter Diana Washington of Lumberton and Valarie McDonald of the McDonald Sisters of Fayetteville.

Plate sales

Pleasant View Baptist Church , Fairmont, will have its steak plate sale March 4 from 3:30 to 8 p.m.

The meals include a ribeye steak, baked potato, salad, roll, dessert and tea or lemonade.

Plates are $11 each, and may be purchased by ticket or at the door. Everyone is invited.

Fundraising

The youth ministry at Christian Fellowship Ministries of Rowland will sponsor a program on March 6 to raise money for a three-day trip in September to “The Holy Land Experience” in Orlando, Fla.

The March 6 program will begin at 4 p.m., and special guests will be Ministers Anthony and Rosa “Lady G” Faison of 107.7 radio. Their program is aired at 7 a.m. each Sunday.

Christian Fellowship Ministries is at 304 Canal Street. Bishop Isabella Alford, pastor, and Elder Kenneth Smith, youth minister, invite everyone.
