To the Editor,
Is Robeson County becoming so crooked now that there are meetings behind closed doors? It seems to me that the county commissioners knew from day one that Mr. Ricky Harris had the job of county manager. If the people of Robeson County would wake up, they will realize that the job was never opened to the public.
Then again, most jobs are not offered to the public, but are given to those individuals handpicked by the county commissioners. I wonder what would the Equal Employment Commission have to say about such dealings? Secret meetings behind closed doors are just like sweeping dirt under the rug. Jobs are very few, but then the public should have an equal opportunity.
I personally do not know anyone on the Board of Commissioners who would close the doors and offer me a job, and I have a master’s degree in Administration. I worked for everything I have; nothing was ever handed to me.
